Babcock Ranch in Southwest Florida is planning to be the first city in the world to produce its own electricity by tapping into solar energy.

Over 350 acres have been set aside for construction of the world's largest solar photovoltaic production facility.

The city's parks, schools, offices, shops and homes will be within easy walking distance. Kids will be able to go to school by bike.

Plans include a Wellness and Fitness Center, street side cafes and a lakefront concert venue.

There will be large habitats for wildlife and native plants. Over half of the 17,608-acre city is dedicated to parks, nature preserves, agriculture and wildlife refuges.
